History

Established for over 30 years, Johnstone Insurance Brokers has enjoyed steady growth and success, with a loyal and longstanding client base.

Johnstone Insurance Brokers Ltd was formed in 2006, although the business itself commenced in 1983 when it was set up by Roger Johnstone.

The business flourished and was joined in 1985 by current Managing Director, Chris Harper who became a partner in 1988. Mark Broome, followed in 1997 becoming a partner 5 years later. Mike Williams joined the company in 2003 and became a director when the new company was formed in 2006.

In 2001, the company moved to new premises on Dunstall Street, where it remains today, and in 2002, joined the Willis Commercial Network, allowing continued independence, while enjoying the security and ‘clout’ of a global organisation.

In 2006, Roger Johnstone retired and a Management Buyout was effected, ensuring that Roger’s legacy remained in the hands of likeminded people, and ensuring continuity for both staff and clients.

Today, Johnstone Insurance continues with the same three directors, who also own the business, and many of the original staff who have been with the company for between 20 and 30 years.
